A visionary fundraising executive, nonprofit strategist, and grant acquisition expert, Dr. Franklin Ferguson, Sr. has over two decades of success in securing transformational funding. As Vice President of Fundraising for the Elderly Housing Development and Operations Corporation (EHDOC), he leads with unwavering passion and strategic foresight to expand resources that enhance the lives of seniors across the nation.
A master of all aspects of nonprofit fundraising, Dr. Ferguson has a distinguished track record of securing millions in federal, state, local, and private grants, as well as fostering high-impact partnerships with philanthropic organizations, corporations, and individual donors. His ability to align mission-driven initiatives with sustainable funding solutions makes him an indispensable asset to EHDOC’s mission.
Prior to joining EHDOC, Dr. Ferguson served as Grant Developer for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami, where he played a pivotal role in securing vital funding to strengthen mentorship programs for underserved youth. His leadership has extended across the education and nonprofit sectors, serving as CEO of The Apex Academy, Superintendent of Omega Technical Institute, and Dean of Campus Openings at MLMPI Preparatory Academy—positions where his expertise in grant writing fueled organizational expansion, program development, and financial sustainability.
Beyond his executive roles, Dr. Ferguson is a renowned educator and mentor, teaching grant writing at the university level to empower the next generation of nonprofit leaders. His commitment to equipping organizations with the tools to thrive has solidified his reputation as an indispensable authority in fundraising and grant management.
Recognized for his exceptional leadership and community impact, Dr. Ferguson has received commendations from the City of Opa-locka, Florida, and the National Black Law Student Association. He holds a Juris Doctor from Saint Thomas University Law School and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Finance) from the University of Florida, combining his legal expertise, financial acumen, and strategic vision to drive fundraising success.
