EHDOC Steps Up for St. Jude at the 2026 Walk

On Saturday, September 19, members of the EHDOC team joined hundreds of participants at Miramar Regional Park for the 2026 St. Jude Walk Broward County, coming together for a morning dedicated to hope, community and the lifesaving mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. EHDOC was proud to participate not only as a team, but also as a Champion Sponsor of this year’s event. Staff members laced up their walking shoes and joined organizations, families and community supporters from across South Florida in raising awareness and funds for the children and families served by St. Jude.

The collective impact of the Broward County community was significant. At the time of publication, 118 teams and more than 740 participants had helped raise over $439,000 toward the event’s $450,000 fundraising goal—demonstrating what can happen when a community comes together around a shared purpose. Funds raised through the St. Jude Walk help support the hospital’s work to advance research and treatment for childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Support for St. Jude also helps ensure families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food, allowing them to focus on what matters most—their child.

For EHDOC, participating in the Walk was another opportunity to extend our commitment to community beyond the walls of the affordable senior housing communities we serve. While our everyday mission centers on helping older adults live with dignity, independence and connection, we believe strong communities are built when people and organizations show up for one another across generations. We are grateful to the EHDOC employees who represented our organization at the Walk, to everyone who supported our participation, and to the many individuals and organizations throughout Broward County who helped make this year’s event such a powerful demonstration of compassion and community.
