In Ville Platte, Louisiana on November 17, 2023, Executive Director Carleen Bellard with the Evangeline Community Action Agency presented EHDOC with a 2023 Partnership Award, “In Appreciation for Outstanding Service and Dedication to the Citizens of our Community.”  The award was presented during the agency’s Black and Gold event.

The quarterly network marketing meeting of the agency is held at Village de Memoire in Ville Platte quarterly. All of the Service Coordinators and Community Managers work closely with the Community Action Program. EHDOC staff members that are on the board include Lisa Deshotel from Village de Memoire and Landie Thompson from another Louisiana property, Chateau des Amis.

The Evangeline Community Action Agency provides social service programs to low-income residents of Evangeline Parish. A few of the programs that EHDOC partners with include: LiHeap (Electricity credit program), Free Fans for Residents, and Food Cards for Residents.

Other agency services include: Head Start, home gardening program, community food and nutrition program, low-income energy assistance program, home cooling program, food for families/food for seniors and more.

The network meetings consist of guest speakers on local services or marketing ideas, all networking for Evangeline and St. Landry Parishes.
